2. Cut the tutorials back. Even 5 year olds will eventually learn how to catch a Pokemon with enough time spent. Most of us playing these games are autistic manchildren who worship every Pokemon game anyways, so we know the ins and outs.
3. Take risks with the plot. Sun and Moon kinda did this, but certain things like needing to catch the legendary was just unneeded and done because BW and XY did it

6. Post game. I know it's practically a meme now, but I just got all of the symbols in emerald and it was one of the most fun I've had with a Pokemon game. Give me a reason to come back to the game after completing the dex. Or better yet - give me something that'll distract me from even completing the dex.
