I might be getting a job soon that has gobs of downtime, so I'm planning to start shiny hunting again to kill time.

What should I hunt first? Playing Moon, that is. I really want to try SOS hunting, it seems neat.

Wouldn't it make more sense if the last 2 were reversed? Shiny hunting poke spot would be way less time consuming than hunting in Colosseum.

Ended up getting another Rufflet last night, and this one is Jolly. Still didn't get Defiant (all 3 have Keen Eye) but this is good enough.

I am pretty stoked. I got a shiny torchic earlier this week, then yesterday I was working on a shiny Pichu and got a shiny Pikachu only 48 SOS chain in and today I spent a grueling 5 hours chaining Bounsweets to get a shiny one about 10 minutes ago.

Now to work on an eevee.

Here's what i'm up against

>basically 6 entire, full fights with 4-6 pokemon each until Ttar comes out
>have to catch it and then white out, through spamming Call until i die
>check the pc to see if it's shiny
>if not, reset the game and fight the fights again
>each reset takes about 25 mins, by my estimation

I'll be hunting on other games and generally just doing it on the side. I need the biggest powerhouse team possible that can somehow kill itself once i capture it, but Colo has very little to choose from. I think Forretress is in the game, i'll absolutely use that.

I don't even really care for Ttar, but the bragging rights are too good to resist. It might take me until the end of the decade.

As someone who never owned a GameCube, I'd say your chances of getting a shiny are juts a bit easier than Manaphy chick, but the bragging right will be as great as Combee Guy. Shit, maybe higher since this is a 1/8192 shiny upon purification. Godspeed.

What's the absolute most powerful team to get to Evice with once i start SRing? The best I can think up is Espeon/Quagsire/Flygon/Metagross/Heracross/Forretress. Metagross is only 1 fight before Evice, but i could just throw the fight after i get Metagross.

MM + Charm is a hell of a drug. Most recent was a Duskull from a foreign ditto in <10 eggs. I was breeding it to put egg moves on a Grimer, but a shiny is cool, too.

You could just have an empty slot in your party so that when you catch it, you can check the party and immediately see if it's shiny instead of whiting out and checking the PC.

Much faster process since you can look at its icon to see if its shiny quickly.

I don't really care about finishing the story, but you need to do it to get it all the way up to Sun. Here's my strategy so far.

Espeon for outspeeding and 1shotting with Psychic attacks
Forretress for suicide bombings
Quagsire and Flygon for EQ spam
Metagross and Heracross for power

Although it's a bit embarrassing, i forgot what trips the event flag for the Pyrite Colosseum fight.

I suggest you should complete the main story so that you can trade over lv. 100 mons to help you get through the gauntlet faster (unless you're gonna grind the hell out of your in-game party).

As for pokemon, i dont have level 100 mons. What I DO have, are a team of level 85 shinies i did Mt Battle with on another memcard. Said team is Groudon/Salamence/Ampharos/Quagsire/Miltank/Heracross

Ttar should still be at Realgam Tower if you KO it and you'd still have to go through the trainers again to get another shot at it.

That other party could work too, whatever's high leveled enough to one shot everything quickly.

Generally use a Lurantis (Contrary) w/ False Swipe, Aerial Ace, etc. So stupid status effect moves buff me instead. I'm sure I could have a lot better set up, but it doesn't really bother me too much.

A shiny male with Sweet Veil last Tuesday and another shiny male earlier tonight with Honey Gather this time. I guess I'm being punished for getting a shiny female Popplio within 900 eggs.

Admittedly, if I had more than one nickname planned I would. Gender tends to only be a thing for me when I'm naming after them after certain characters.

There have been times where I didn't care what gender they were(regardless of if it were a shiny hunt or normal breeding session), but those were when I didn't have an immediate nickname in mind.

At least the odds I'm playing with are better than the previous hunt. It's just that luck was on my side with Popplio(second shiny was female and I wasn't at even 1,000 eggs) unlike the missed rolls I'm currently getting.

I don't know if they'll work together, but otherwise, yes, it's a gamble. Mine has Rash nature, which is great for her special attack but takes away from special defense (but let's face it, it's a Salazzle, there's nothing you can do for her defenses to save her).
