Do we agree that Golduck is the best PMD starter?

- no weather
- no Voltorb traps
- no Selfdestruct
- early access to Disable (good against end bosses)
- best team base design

Find any flaws.

I do agree with the rest of your points, though I've only tried two other starters in Rescue Team so I'd be hesitant to say it's the best.

Yeah but what about PMD 2? I'll say Shinx AND Vulpix:

Shinx
-Has access to Charge and can be linked to ANY STAB to do insane damage
-Can kill most Monster Houses with Discharge. Combibe it with Charge to ensure many OHKOs.
-Intimidate reduces direct physical attacks
-Unlike RPGs, Rivarly is very useful meaning that you can hit hard with ANY moves but only in floors 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, etc.

Vulpix
-In PMD Imprison works very different: paralyzes the opponent for many turns meaning that any boss can be a piece of cake.

The best starter is Skitty. STAB Tackle linked with Tail Whip is very strong. It also learns Attract very early.

Best sky starter was Mudkip. Endeavor makes boss fights super easy. Riolu is also pretty good.

I had great success with Treecko

Agility is ridiculously OP and it can pretty much hit any target from anywhere with Bullet Seed

Treecko was my starter in PMD Red Rescue Team and PMD Explorers of Darkness and I only struggled with Moltres and Articuno in the former

Though fun fact: resisted hits in Rescue Team are only 0.9x, while super effective ones are 1.5x. So if one type resists and the other is weak, it still does increased damage.
Were they worried that too much damage reduction would be OP but they were fine making Grass starters take 50% extra from Peck and Powder Snow?
