Will they limit it to a gen similar to Kanto mon in Alola?

I reckon Johto mon will get the treatment, especially due to the Sinjoh ruins. I can see variants of Chikorita, Cyndaquil, and Totodile, as they're yet to get a mega, and Gamefreak seems to be shoving megas in the background.
