>>32456380>The 20th movie is as it is because everything since like the Keldeo movie has been the lowest-grossing Pokemon movie at the box officeThis is wrong though, since the Genesect movie made more money than the Ranger and the Temple of the Sea, Pokemon 4Ever and Pokemon Heroes movies which came before it did.

To be real for a moment,I know many people here are too young to remember ( or weren't even born) the time during which Pokemania began to wane. The franchises popularity didn't just slowly go down, shit plummeted, with game sales essentially halving and box office grosses crashing like mad. It honestly felt like the series went from super popular to unpopular among my schoolmates and friends overnight, it was fucking weird to witness.
Like, look at the difference between the gross' of the first two movies and the rest of the Gen 2 ones, the the drop from the 3rd movie to the other movies. Fucking unreal.
The series has obviously stayed relevant and continues to do well, but don't believe those people who claim that the Pokemon Go frenzy last summer was anything like the good days of Pokemania, it wasn't even fucking close.
