I had to dump zapdos after a few days. He has one of every color in his wheel. which means he can shank it on almost every battle. He wouldnt kill when I need him to, he cant dodge reliably and that 50 white attack might as well be a miss now. I started to just have him on my team to bluff like he was hot shit, but people wouldnt give a fuck and he would get stomped. was so excited when I got him and but he was such a disappointment.

Play the gym even if your figures are bad for it. And end your win streaks at two. That will let you see the most figures. Unless you really want that meaningless win streak trophy.

Kyogre is fun when you're lucky, but its 130 is exactly the same size as its 50, and that huge single star purple makes it Mew/ Gren bait, while also being able of being ko'd by unevolved Blastoise's mirror coat. Think of it like this: lots of the strongest figures in the meta rn kill Kyogre 3/4 times. The only things it has going for it are the large dodge areas and the fact that sometimes it will get a power boost vs an opponent's Kyogre (which I never saw happen, because most people above 2000 in the gym aren't running it). It's the definition of an inconsistent figure, and it isn't worth the 1mp.

I should also note that I had replaced a Magikarp on my team for Kyogre, which was a terrible decision in retrospect because Gyarados is consistent, 3mp, and always has the potential to kill / Storm any figure in the gym. For reference, Gyarados' Storm is larger than Kyogre's Hydro Pump by 28/96 to 20/96, which is a big fucking deal. If you level Gyarados' Storm, it will land a 1/3 of the time, while Kyogre's Hydro Pump will land 1/4 of the time. This is all also ignoring the fact that Magikarp is ironically the best defensive figure in the game due to taking a free hit / potential for Flail vs miss cheese kills. Long story short, you're better off running a second or third Gyarados over Kyogre.

What are you using Empoleon for that you guys are so upset at it over? You should be using it to bully runners and to threaten goal point surrounds, you shouldn't be trying to kill a Virizion with it.

Are you not running Manaphy? If you aren't, then consider maybe Prinplup->Empoleon for that consistent 40 Water Gun. But yeah Poliwhirl is a definite favorite, you just have to be careful for level 5 Mews when you don't have Manaphy up, because rolling Mew into Psychic can fuck Poli up.

Get yourself a Kyogre then. 100 gems wasted recharging in the gym will win you a lot more figs than a one double booster in the shop.

40 energy makes tanking more rare now, so down at ~1200 rating (if you're that bad) you can find a lot newbies using starters.

I have a problem with this game. Actually I'm running a Zekrom/Reshiram deck, and since they kinda need to win combats to be effective, I see myself losing 3/4 attacks. Both figures have miss, an big fly and I don't have good fighters/runners to keep game going till I can deploy Zek/Resh combo.

ATM I'm using Shuppet/Deo A/ Rayquaza/Empoleon/Zekrom/Reshiram. 2 Overdrive, Hurdle Jump, Switch and Double Chance.

I can't get past 2400. Dropped to like 2100 these days, struggling to climb.

Should I just drop BW eject shit ?

I don't like Shuppet or 1mp mons on twin dragons builds because they generally require a setup that can hold your defenses until the wait 9 expires. Shuppet is easily killed and Rayquaza takes up an entry for a turn

I would use Whimsicott (fantastic synergy with twin dragons since its durable and can switch matchups, allowing you to get an easy banish) over Shupper and Moltres>Ray

You could also use the Magikarp->Gyara over Ray if you have it

Yes.
Even post-nerf, the Deoxys are still extremely strong and above-curve figures. 130 on a white is no joke, especially when you can force an opponent to respin. No one's running Metagross or Tropical anymore so there's even less resistant. Reuniclus is in the same boat too.

They're still amazing figures, you just don't automatically win with them.

They're not OP because they're not OP figures. A 90 white with a 25% chance of being good paired with a 30 gold of all things isn't a game-breaking wheel. It's GOOD, but good figures aren't inherently overpowered just off being good.

Pretty awful compared to other 1MP EX.
Destiny Bond is only okay if you're not defending and the enemy has 1/2 more figures than you. Manipulative can push away opponents for cheese strategies combined with it's Forest Mystery ability, and 110 is a great consistent attack against most figures.

Destiny Bond destroys its Defensive capabilities, so it's safe to say Trevenant is meant to be a wall or entry taking figure, albeit super shit compared to Moltres

EX Pokemon are generally good.
Meanwhile, most R or lower figures are also good, they're just insanely specialized.
Shuppet and Gastly are perfect examples. Poliwhirl, Kirlia, Emolga, Voltorb, and Salamance are other examples of what are great figures that excel in their specific role.
What I'm trying to say is, non-EX teams are viable, they just require way more effort and you actually need to think if you want to win.
t. Someone who played for three months straight with no EXs and got to 2800 rating.

Yellow attacks don't need to be nerfed because most of them are fairly low, at about 20-40 attack. The problem is that zapdos and Rayquaza get a 100+ yellow attack which counters the majority of regular attacks, as well as purples.

i've been dancing around 2900+ and i only see the usual deoxys attack here and there or a deoxys speed by itself that's only used just to get a free entry point, but other than that i haven't seen a single full deoxys team.

Unless it's a CLV 1 mew its a pretty bad idea to block Sceptile with one
I regularly throw my Sceptile into them, only quick attack vs psychic will kill it and that's like very unlikely
The only thing I really don't like attacking into is Verizon

Holy shit, that was a pain in the fucking ass, they just kept coming back even with the entry points blocked. Was close to timing out, but I got lucky and his goalie spun a miss after his Torterra spun Earthquake on his turn, so my Blastoise was free to take the goal from his entry

Swift Swim lets Armaldo gain +1 MP if there is a Water type adjacent to it. Also will have no Miss at Lv.5 to make room for Aqua Jet
Not really sure if I would call this a buff just because Battle Armor is a much superior Ability and Swift Swim can only work in certain decks.

So i have 450 gems saved, and 17 booster tickets from the monthly rewards + gym, i already got 2 sceptiles and 1 virizion but i'm feeling the urge to waste my resources into getting another virizion or sceptile from the boosters before they become unavailable, even though they would probably end up becoming Clv for my older figures, should i do anyways since the next patch doesn't seem like it's going to bring anything good or should i wait?
