They really don't expect you to play the game past the campaign. You're supposed plsy another game, or do something else. That's the decision that Masuda made in ORAS.

what fun postgame events? The only things from R/S are the Battle Tower, which is there, Beldum and bagon being available, which they are, and essentially nothing else
