Should Grass-type pokemon have access to a new move equal to fire blast / hydro pump?

Why? Everything learns Leaf Storm and Power Whip and Energy Ball

nobody is clamoring for more Grass STABs

Seed Flare would be nice on more pokemon, but be reasonable here

It seems really difficult to name Grass type attacks in general.
I'd name the attack Forrestorm, and the 10% or so secondary effect could lower the target's Speed, Defense and Special Defense 1 stage.

The correct answer is Giga Drain. Recovering 50% HP makes it equivalent to a 50% more powerful move (112.5 bp)

When we studied photosynthesis in high school bio I made a chloroplast pokemon called Kloroblast. It was basically a circle with an angry face and Blastoise cannons.

One of the biggest grass type design choices is the whole "drain" thing and somehow they keep trying to make grass defensive, so instead of that how about something like a Draining Shield?

Like Spiky Shield, but if it's hit by an attack not only it blocks the damage, but restores the pokemon's health and saps the other one's.

Maybe make two variations where one drains health and the other one raises one stat, or make it be dependant on the type of move used
