I remember as much as I liked Emerald's skills, I disliked him as whole until we got some exposition on his background and character developement. And it kind of took till the whole Guile fight for me to start liking him
Same thing is going on with Lack-2. It's awesome to have a character with a very different background for once. Lack-2 and Whi-2 aren't the usual somewhat normal children - they are memebers of two powerful opposing organizations, but in Whi-2's case we got to see more into her past, what led her to be like this AND we saw her developing. In Lack-2's case all we saw was him selecting his starter, meeting Keldeo and then him going out in missions. We know barely anything aside super secret agent and him being an OP genius with connections.
And until we get more exposition, overall opinion on him won't change
