The suspenders and pants kind of look like fire fighter's trousers but who the fuck fights fires in flipflops?
So either he's a clown, a fire fighter or some retired "yanki" and it's hard to pinpoint which.
One suggestion I have is to make his hair and suspenders more of a rusted red than bright red. That can probably apply for his supenders as well. Probably give him an orange shirt to offset the McDonald's association though it probably doesn't sell the firefighter angle, if he is indeed supposed to be one.
It's up to you if he keeps the flipflops. Wouldn't want to get in the way of fujo and gay footfags on this board.
