And Flying type Pokémon being immune to Earthquake while other Pokémon that fly are not makes perfect sense too. And the fact that Flying type Pokémon are immune to Earthquake but not other just-as-earthbound moves makes logical sense too.
It had always been stupid. Thousand Arrows doesn't make anything any more stupid than it already was.
They should've made Ground do neutral damage to Flying and given a subtype "Earthbound" flag to all moves that are earthbound the same way as they did with Sound moves, and add a flag to all Pokémon that can fly that makes them immune to Earthbound moves.
