Back during Pokemania, before the release of Gold and Silver, I had pretty much exhausted the anime and games and started reading a lot of fan fiction. One of which was called Phoenix Rising by Michael Anastas. It was roughly the length of a short novel, had an over-the-top bad-ass Mary Sue hero, and was just edgy enough to appeal to my adolescent self. I thought it was amazing and downloaded it.
Like almost every pokemon fansite from that era, the site that hosted Phoenix Rising went down. Years later I bumped into another Pokemon fan online who had been also been a fan of Phoenix Rising. I started poking around and found several references to other Pokemon fans having liked it as well so I rehosted it on a wordpress blog for the benefit of the nostalgic few who might remember it.
Phoenix Rising was actually a fanfic sequel to another (lower quality) fanfic by another author, so I hosted that, too. While I was gathering those texts I discovered some cheesy Pokemon-themed poems and another fanfic that Michael Anastas had written when he was even younger than he had been when he originally wrote Phoenix Rising. The latter was "The Magi Got Pissed". I wasn't the author.
