I think we still have another month where a game announcement could be made for a 2017 release. But yeah if it doesn't happen by the beginning of June there's not gonna be a game this year.

Considering he said BW2 and that came after the Johto games, he wants one of the newer games to have postgame content, not older. I honestly can't blame him, XY, ORAS, and SM were very boring after beating the game.

I agree, with Marshadow already releasing this year I think it's almost safe to say gen 7 is more of an "anniversary gen". A little unorthodox for an anniversary game, but I'll take it if it means new Pokemon.

Yep, Marshadow and Necrozma getting promotion right now makes me think early 2018 we will get reveal of brand new mon(s) for the movie and then the game announcement

Sure they could reveal some extra form for gen 7 but lets face it without new mons the gen is pretty much over

Trips confirm. Memes aside, I hope next gen introduces more pokes than what we got in gens 6 and 7. I feel like I lose interest in the games much quicker if they only give us a handful to play with, and I'm not sure if my interest for this gen can hold for much longer. The sooner we get the next gen the better.
