Should I bother getting a new 3DS? I have one that I got from Christmas 2011 that is honestly getting kind of slow.

I feel like I could use one because then I could trade with myself since I'm a fag who buys both versions but I feel like they are gonna release Gen 8 or whatever is next on a different platform. Am I wrong? Should I get one? I could probably for relatively cheap off Craigslist or whatever.

Probably. You could do a system transfer from the old one to an N3DS if you buy it, and then do fucking something with the old one I don't know.

N3DS has better battery life, better 3D, and the buttons won't leave marks on the screen. Only problem is that the colour range outside of playes is shit limited.

SM does run smoother on the N3DS, but it's pretty much just a smoothing over of stutters on the overworld and 1v1. Shit like Doubles, Totems, certain moves, so on make the game chug like hell still.

Gen VIII will definitely be on something new, so just wait for that to happen.
