What would you do to make Unown strong during normal gameplay?

>New ability
>New gimmick

I was thinking that letting them have a secondary typing through a held item (Plates, RKS disks etc) would be interesting. That could also "fix" Hidden Power to a type depending on the held item (Pixie Plate = Psychic/Fairy typing, and HP becomes Fairy type), along with a slightly more extended movepool (a Psychic stab and that's it?)

Unown are cool and mysterious, but flat out unusable unlike most other shitmons
