Reasoning behind it is that food is the most consistent thing in the game and you can do it all the time. Paired with the free Octillery Pot it's an amazing boost and you get way more JP feeding 30 minutes than you would get from a single training you get during this time.
Aegislash is good but again, timegated and therefore worse, especially because there are no reliable ways to reset TP.
Parasect has the additional problem that events are not even guaranteed but the price kinda makes up for that and it's a good addition to Aegislash.
