Is it a normal thing outside of the pokeverse that dragons are weak/completely useless against fairies? The pokeverse is honestly the first time I've heard of this happening, and it seems like a meme against dragon types.

Faerie magic basically trumps other mythical creatures. Dragons are slain by enchanted weaponry too, while the fae are harmed by pollution and cold iron.

It's fucking stupid is what it is. Fairies were made as a fix type, but since GF can't into balance they made it fucking broken and a bigger cancer than Dragon or Fighting ever were. Literally the only argument for fairies beating dragons is "muh knights kill dragons in fairy tales" which A) means Steel, not Fairy should be SE on Dragon and B) is actually incorrect, because it's Christian saints who killed dragons in folklore, and Christianity supplanted the old European traditions and shunted fairies from deities to malicious spirits

Not really, several fairies actually kept dragon as their personal bitches in folklore.

Most of the Knights in fairy tales that got to slat a dragon got the means to do so from a fairy.

Fairies were really mean fucker in old school fairy tales, Disney made them mediocre and cute on the west only recently.
