start with a strong typing core (two or three types that compliment each other well) and a variety of offensive and defensive strategies. get one or two really good bulky mons, an utility mon, and a setup sweeper or two. mons that can fill multiple niches are very valuable. also don't discount shit because "it's low tier" because theres some low tier shit that can really clean up house in draft leagues if people dont prepare for them
remember draft leagues are all about counter-teaming your opponent, so you need some good tools you can utilize in different ways based on your opponent's team
