"Complex ban" is no longer an excuse. Banning entire mechanics creates a horribly rigid and stale meta, especially when the mechanic isn't the problem. Slippery slope will always be a fucking stupid argument; if they can recognize the slippery slope, then they can easily draw the boundaries. "Ability + Pokemon" is a perfectly reasonable starting point and there's no reason to go beyond that.

The point is to prevent Speed Boost + Baton Pass, the problem combo, as opposed to Baton Pass altogether. Ability + Move would also be a valid ban.

Except then people would start using Iron Defense Mew or whatever into Rock Polish Necrozma and nothing would change. The ability Speed Boost wasn't the issue here.
