typing for one part. typing is more important than stats for defensive pokemon sometimes. also reliable recovery, which they don't have.

you can't even do anything with them as they are now. regice is a freaking PU rock polish sweeper that's how little it has going on for it defensively

Assault Vest Regirock isn't too bad. Plus, Registeel was all over the place in Gen 4. Besides what the others said, Earthquake's super common.
