>>32638999Checked. They do, but there's also the issue that Fire-types and Grass-types are simply unnecessary in the first three gens. Gen 4 poses a greater teambuilding problem but DPPt has completely shit distribution anyway and Empoleon's typing makes up for it. Gen 5 has hugely better options for the Fire and Grass-types, and in XY it's a bit more balanced.

You're right that games give you a large variety of water-types to choose from (mostly) though.
