Which comes at the expense of making he main game half the size. Platinum has more trainers, more maps, and bigger maps than HGSS, and BW2 beats both.

The other points I'll give you, but HGSS isn't special for doing things that were already done by earlier games.

I agree with most of those but it was just one long campaign.
Kanto wasnt the postgame.

Damn, you're right, I did forget Platinum's rebattling. I prefer the HGSS system for rematches, and I like the fact that there are 16 of them with full teams of 6, but I concede that Platinum did it too.

Even if the code for following comes from DPPt, no one would argue it's a DPPt feature.

I don't mean to disparage Platinum, though. HGSS, Platinum, and BW/2 are in my opinion the highlights of the whole series, each with great, unique features that Gamefreak regrettably never did again. HGSS just happens to be the one I like most of those games.

HG/SS were better than DPPt. But that's not an incredibly high fucking standard to surpass.

Johto remakes looked nice, had nice music, brought back some nice things from the originals. But that's about where the praise ends. The menus were fucking atrocious, gameplay speed still Gen 4 garbage tier, and all the flaws from the original remained.

Either it has the best post game of any Pokemon main series game, or the best campaign of any Pokemon main series game since you want to include Kanto so badly.

It's called the Ready button. That's one thing that BW(2) have over HGSS. They crippled it in XY though and then removed it in SM.
