If it's not gameplay, just romance, then again, it has been there. Shauna was literally made for this one thing. If it's not just romance, but actual relationships, then again, we've seen those. Years ago, with Misty. And now, with Kukui and Burnet.
Romance is the most kid friendly thing you can think of. Even literally every single Disney movie has this. And it has been present in Pokemon.
