Maybe even a headcanon where a Qwilfish and a Bruxish are in a gay relationship but don't fully realize it for themselves so there's no lewdity and they just enjoy each other's company a great deal.
Other companion species in my headcanon: Clamperl/Chinchou, Corsola/Shuckle, Tropius/Chatot, Eelektross/Stunfisk, Venomoth/Vileplume, Sunflora/Ledian
None are sexual pairings, more like friendly symbiosis. I like doing replays of old gens with these types of combinations on my team, even if they're a pain in the ass battling wise like Shuckle/Corsola.
