Because I'm not a guy who only buys a console for pokemon games and there's at least 2 other major releases That I'd also be using the online for, if not more.

I just want battles that aren't laggy as shit and the 3DS has proven it can't handle that.

better graphics and performance would be nice, but yeah the paid online, worse battery life, higher price (games will probably be 60 dollars just because even though they reuse the same pokemon models) and there are probably more disadvantages to switch

How many timed does it have to be said that Game Freak just sucks at getting the most out of the 3DS? The Switch isn't going to fix anything.

I don't, for exactly that reason. I'm sure Pokémon will be on the Switch in a few years at latest but I'm just going to not get them, and if all of Nintendo's future consoles have paid online I'm just going to stop playing new Pokémon games and stick with the older ones.
