I don't know how no one else saw that the Lycanroc in the trailer is doing the exact same "stand, jump, pose midair, fall" that Gumshoos did in the first games. Lycanroc is a new totem it seems to me. I would think the first, 2bh. Might be wrong about that bit though.

I think you might be right, replace evolved route 1 trash with day/night exclusive evolution of same pokemon that actually has a fanbase and some kind of type advantage against most pokemon the player is likely to have, normal becomes first gym to give all these kids not used to gym battles an easier ride for their first time. Maybe some other trials get replaced/upgraded to gyms.

Depends on how you look at it
Gen 1 and Gen 2 were pretty lazy in some places for gyms and Sun and Moon had lousy trials in some areas but they are still early

The idea of battling an overpowered Pokémon with support is a more enticing idea for a boss battle then simply Somebody with a same type team

Battle frontier wasn't replaced by anything except Fucking Miason
