when I was 9 or 10 I rejected from a classmate a copy of the pokemon silver just after it was released, because I already had the Gold version and my brother had the Silver version. He and his mum came to my house to give it to me as a present for my bday and I just said "thank you but I already have it". I still feel bad about it and have remorse and I feel like I should apologize to my former classmate because of that, not for the game itself but because it is not good to reject presents. Currently I am 25 years old.

I can't stand any starter Pokemon and I tend to release them by the time I'm done with the first gym. the exception is bulbasaur who i keep as a flash+cut slave until i find something better.

I 'borrowed' Gold and Silver from a "friend" in school because she got them early from the US, and I never gave them back. She even asked me about it and I said lel it's not like you're going to play them since Pokemon isn't 'cool' anymore. Later on Silver got stolen by someone else though, so I guess I got karma.

I don't care about any of my Pokemon. Even ones I'd consider 'prized' are only so because it took a long time to get them. But they could all easily be replaced, and with objectively better ones.
I honestly wish they would completely reboot the series, even if it meant you couldn't transfer old Pokemon into the new games. I have grown weary of this eugenics sim

I like both games Ohmori made. I think ORAS were the best remakes and SM are tied with BW2 as my favorite games of the series.

Personally Ohmori's stuff would be my 100% favorite if two things happened with them in the future.

1. Less hand holding.
2. More polish. Both of his directed games felt empty.

I'll agree on the handholding part. ORAS were piss easy and while SM were pretty hard, they had the longest tutorial of any Pokemon game yet. It took 15 or something minutes just to get the first Pokemon. I don't mind the excessive cutscenes, I really enjoyed them, but the tutorial cutscenes were the most boring ones.

It's not like I expect the games to be challenging, they never have been. But the sheer number of "chaperones" stationed around the islands really spoiled any sense of exploration for me. It felt like one great treadmill.
