I replaced the dried-up battery in my Pokémon Emerald cart some time ago. The warning message has since gone away, and the in-game clock (in the house in Littleroot) runs fine; however, daily berries still don't grow, and daily events still won't update again.

Did I make a mistake inserting the new battery somehow, or would I need to start a new game to actually get the time functionality back?
