So I was bored and deiced to check out the Pokemon cartoon.

Other than the electric guy, is this faggot ever going to actually FINISH A FUCKING MATCH? Or is he just going to keep teaching Gym Leaders about the Power of Love?

I thought this show was supposed to be about monsters FIGHTING

Yeah no, the original series was extremely poor because of shit like that. Battles don't really pick up until very late Orange Island or the Johto gyms/league

The point of the first series was that Ash was a rookie and shit trainer with a lot to learn. It's about how not everyone is a special snowflake that will succeed just by giving their best.

Check out the original plans of the anime. Being a trainer for a living is the equivalent of being a famous football player in the real world. Most adults started by going on their own journey too only to fail and move on with their lives and get the normal jobs you mostly see the filler characters have.

The original anime had it planned that he would lose, find out that his father was a failure that being why he was too ashamed to return home after trying to follow what is considered to be a childish dream and have him move on.
Oh, and Pokémon would rebel against humans at some point.

Obviously it was changed once it alongside the games became an international success and now he only sticks around for marketing purposes.
You should check the original anime novels, really interesting stuff that was scrapped.

If you want to see an intelligent match then read the Pokemon Special manga, the protagonists have a personality and find out ways to use the real world to their advantage in combination with Pokemon moves

The show is one long on going series of Ash's adventures and he never really accomplishes anything important because the show is meant to sell merch. What they should have done is end his adventures with him winning a league and making an anime that's actually entertaining but that's never gonna happen. Plus the show is inconsistent as fuck didn't he forget what a Weezing was? Levels were also a thing in beginning of the show
