The anime is just a marketing tool to sell the game. Anyone over the age of 10 who gets invested into it is an idiot. Just like how Ash eternally remains the same age, the target audience also remains the same age.

Well think of it like getting a degree, professors are gonna throw all sorts of creepy stuff your way but hey there are honorary degrees

A pokémon professor may pass exams and get their masters but up against a poochyena they need help from some kid, some kid can stop a legendary in a parallel universe and save the world and a champion or gym leader knows more about a certain species of pokémon than some professor with their masters who may actually be the one acknowledged as a pokémon Master

Other kids shows don't have to market a long running video game series so they can afford to have character progression. It's much easier to have Ash lose the league and explore the next region l rather than have him deal with the consequences of winning the league.

Just imagine there are probably trainers with 6 or 7 gym badges wishing they could be a Champion or gym leader and nope...meanwhile little miss Miltank is invited to the position for whatever reason, same with Iris and possibly even Claire but I guess that gives it an inverse effect in that family ties and politics could prevent a trainer from rising to a position and keep them grounded in a position, just being family wasn't enough to let claire usurp Lance

The interview was in fucking English, so I have no idea why it gets misquoted by every single retard out there all the time.

It was literally stated in the anime the the Frontier Brains are stronger than gym leaders, but weaker than the Elite Four.

It's almost as if different adaptations can portray things in different ways or something.

Anime version makes more sense. In the game you got a giant area set up and built around the idea of collecting trinkets for beating trainers that are so strong even the regional champion can't touch them, in what world does THAT make sense?
