BW were the first games to have a story, but that story was shit. They tried too fucking hard and did NOTHING for most of the game. Team Plasma were clearly the bad guys, stealing Pokemon and attacking people, even attacking fucking Gyms, but the games went "are they really evil?" and let them do as they please. No one even tried doing anything about Team Plasma running around and talking about doing terrible shit. BW just mocked the player's intelligence and only a literal retard could find that garbage anything but garbage.
BW2 on the other hand had a more generic story. But generic =! bad. It was miles ahead of BW in terms of literally everything, from characters to goals, from the evil team to the villains. Literally everything was better in BW2, though more generic.

It comes down to Rosa and Hilbert, and while I do think Hilbert is cool, Rosa is just hotter. But I don't want Nate winning, so I'll call this a tie.

BW2 had better Gym leaders, but not all of them got screentime outside their Gyms. Still, the ones who got the screentime didn't spout the most generic shit. They actually did something meaningful. BW gave everyone some screentime, but most of them did nothing of interest. Like Elesa, giving the most boring speech. Or Brycen, getting just a single little piece of dialogue.
