>>32735553I know you're just shitposting, but it being on the DS was a correct move. There was literally no gain from making it a 3DS exclusive, the game was still going to be the same, and the 3DS being compatible with DS games meant that people with 3DS could buy it as well. Considering how third versions usually sell far less than the first incomplete versions, it wouldn't have sold many 3DS's on its own, and it'd be missing out on the DS market.
>>32735714The only information we have so far points to alternate version, which is essentialy a third version with a different story, or a plain old third version.
>>32735517I'm not sure why you're responding to my post, but alright. I think they said they'd be supporting the 3ds in 2018, but for when such a time comes that it dies, I think there's 3 things that can happen, in order of likeliness to me:
· focus goes entirely on the Switch
· release a new dedicated handheld that has compatibility with (3)DS games
· launch a pure-handheld version of the switch
Considering handhelds are key for Nintendo, and how they like to reuse stuff from the past, losing backwards compatibility seems weird, and since the Switch can't play any previous portable games, a 3DS successor is fairly reasonable (unless they include them on the VC for the switch I guess).
