The following is unrelated to any currently announced GAME FREAK inc. products.
A division of GAME FREAK inc. in accordance with an undisclosed private developer are, as of Q4 2016, developing several entertainment titles for their proprietary virtual console distribution platform. These original titles are classified and registered under 「ハイパー[OMITTED]」, but should not be mistaken as separate to the Pokémon brand.
In my own words, they can and should be described as: stand-alone games featuring recognizable Pokémon characters, structurally and graphically reminiscent of ポケットモンスターダイヤモンド・パール・プラチナ・ハートゴールド・ソウルシルバー・ブラック・ホワイト. Despite no new Pokémon "pocket monster" characters being introduced, consumers are expected to play through new locations and stories with their favorite icons. Pitched as unique, smaller Pokémon adventures in comparison to currently released titles.
