New story + new features in the same region, regardless of whether or not it takes place straight after the original, is enough to consider it a sequel

Sure, but storywise? No apparently. Its just not that appealing to go through the same story without any change.

Unless the story is an alternate bad ending; that wouldve atleast made it more interesting
