Haven't gotten to play with it personally but it seems most effective when backed with a max revive from what I've seen in featured. He seems pretty cool. I like that Crobat gives no fucks to his EQ. Still not sure how useful the vibration is. Seems cute but not really good.

Other than potential evo stuff for your Ex's. I'd say Trapinch and Vibrava are good choices. 71 will stick a surprising amount of things. If you have a Manaphy deck Kabuto and Poliwhirl are potential anti-meta choices. Corphish and Crawdaunt may be worth exploring too. For Tropical Decks Petitlil will curb stomp Deo-A and make Terrakion think twice. Phantump blanks Cosmo Energy so there is that. I invested a lot of my commons into 2 Emolga because double Volt Switch is kinda cool when it works and 2 Beedrill because they are hilarious with some X-Accuracy and I expect the devs to do some form of Mega Evolution thing eventually.

Whats your current team?
The other Deoxys formes are trash without Deoxys-A and Cosmo Energy, Cobalion is meh unless you have a really purple heavy team, and Greninja is a jobber. As long as you have Mew and/or Zapdos, everything else in the sexpacks is non-essential

For the most part its good if you're missing a lot of the figures listed. Basically everything besides Charizard, Torterra, Mewtwo, Blastoise and Infernape is usable in the meta (Metagross only if you don't have a better answer to Cosmo decks and Venusaur if you're using a Poison deck alongside Crobat and Seismitoad).
Right now the top two decks in the meta are Cosmo decks, which consist of a whole team of the three Deoxys formes plus the Cosmo Energy plate (Deoxys-N is also good to have on this deck to check Mew but its a Gym reward only figure) and Tropical decks which consist of Grass and Flying types, usually including Sceptile, Zapdos, Mew, Virizion, and whatever wild cards you want like Leafeon, Gyarados, Articuno, and Moltres to name a few examples.

I personally really dislike the idea of double Manaphy. I find having one is generally enough of an obvious weakpoint of the deck and without an Empolean to help play around Manaphy's 1mp I definetly would not.

You won't be facing real players in League duels until you hit 1500 so definitely be hitting that up for easy not wins.
Try to keep a Time Booster unlocking at all times.
Make sure you do your Daily Missions for resources.
Work through the Quest mode for Gems
Only focus on buying sextuple packs
Most of the Pokémon you'll be getting early on aren't really worth leveling up so focus on leveling up any Rare and EX figures you get

If you have no EXs or no good EXs I'd very much advise buying quads (maybe one or two on a banner you really like but not regularly); it's the Duel equivalent of being poor and spending your money for groceries on a PS4.

Duel has somewhat of a barrier of entry and you'll need a few decent EXs to really compete (especially if you're new and still learning the game). It's very easy to buy a quad thinking you'll get Suicune, and then you end up with 3 goldeen and a Vaporeon, now 200 gems in the hole.

On top of this, sexpacks have a 10% EX pull rate for each slot (other than the guaranteed), so you can easily get multiple EXs for your gems, many of which are decent figures. The devs have gotten notoriously jewish since the May 24th banner update so gems are a precious commodity.

I don't mean to tell people how to play the game but if a new player wants to be resourceful, they should generally spend gems on sexpacks, and just save their materials for a fancy new banner EX figure instead of playing the lottery

Even if you do pull an EX, Swampert needs other (preferably good) water figs to get 2MP, Palpitoad needs the poison deck, Suicune needs freezers. Your other pulls could include Lugia, Keldeo, and Zygarde which are just plain mediocre.

The proper balance is to remove all offensive effects of blues. Stealth hit and bulldoze should not exist. Free movement on a previously 100% safe slice is as shitty game design as having an insanely strong figure with an ability to turn safe slices into miss.

It never works as well as you want it to. When I did it I had 5 and a Manphany. But still with that team, using Tentacool as your heavy hitters won't work.

I would level the dodge. You can get early pressure by just sending it down on turn 2/3 even if cosmo energy isnt active. Safe players guard their goal while others attack it, if you level dodge you instapunish the people who attack and just win the game

Giant purple+gold immunity isn't really good design. Not sure if it'd be broken per se, but no Pokemon should be that difficult to KO on its own. The fact that it has a potential instant KO on top of that is pretty bad too.

Evolved forms, with some exceptions that get mp boosts or the 10 atk is important to counter other meta figures.
Some examples are Vibraba (loses his niche ability when evolving), grovyle (sceptile is a monster on its own), magikarp (unobtainable for now), phantump, charmeleon, dragonair, etc.

Water teams are consistently in featured duels and a fair amount of them are 3k+. It's not in the same tier as tropical energy or deo decks but it's not far off, and definitely viable.

That's not really relevant though. I just think Manaphy's wheel is absolutely terrible figure design. The idea of decks based around Manaphy is that you should be able to get to the weaker "Brain" of the deck (Manaphy) to kill it and throw the balance of the battle back in your favor. The problem with this is that almost 50% of Manaphy's wheel is an attack that lets Manaphy not only survive against any white attack, but get a huge positioning advantage depending on how the board is set up. They can possibly get a surround on your attacking figure, or move their figure into a threatening position.

Yes, you can obviously try to be smart with your positioning to prevent this, but finding breathing room is difficult against these decks, and you're essentially obligated to try and kill Manaphy whenever you have an opening unless you want to fight 130+ damage Gyarados for the entire match.

A one star nerf wouldnt really make that much of a difference anyways. I just don't get why a figure that's supposed to be a weak supporter has such an amazing punishing attack

I did run Zapdos the last few gyms where Water got the buff but I can't justify it as much here since this is a faster gym with more 3mps. Maybe I'll try it over my Vibrava although I'm doing alright this gym.

I'll admit that was a pretty autistic rant desu, probably just pent up salt. I just think Manaphy's Song is slightly too strong u feel me blood

That's a good strategy but he's 1 mp. So I'd have to use Pokemon Switch after using a 3 mp 'mon to the entry point.
Blocking entry points is already a strategy I use so I'd rather have a mon sitting on it and blocking it entirely than have stunfisk on it and still allow other figures to pass through.

This is the longest stalemate ever. Thankfully Bronzor confused Gyarados and then Empoleon killed Swampert and Manaphy with aqua jets back to back and Gatr was too slow to make it to the goal.

Looks really good anon. I've seen some players running similar or the same lineup at around 3200+ rating. It seems like a really effective deck. I don't think Hurdle is really worth having though. I would swap it out for Goal Block, which is especially good with Venu. Long Throw is another option as it allows you for entry protection against faster decks and again, is good with Venu

Venusaur is the centerpiece of poison decks. The idea is that you cripple what's on the field for easy movement and get in position for a goal surround or entry cap. Without the 1MP they'll just cycle figures and you'll have to repoison everything.

If you have trouble dealing with rush teams or deo-speed rush on cosmo (I know there are some deo players that still rush the entries) then maybe it's worth copping

It could be worse, but you'll probably do fine until you hit Ultra League. Whenever you do get better figures, replace Braixen first then either Deoxys or Mewtwo depending on whether you get a better defender than Deo or not. You'll be okay with Latios, Infernape, and Zekrom for a while but the former two will become dead weight eventually and so will Zekrom if you don't pull Reshiram.

It also ruins multi spins, so Greninja becomes useless as well. It puts you at a 40 damage deficit against any figure of the boosted type too, so even if it's something you should be able to beat or run even with, you're boned. It's steep enough to keep people from using a lot of figures that don't belong to either type but it doesn't necessarily stop the most common non gym type threats. How so? You can throw up to 2 of your opponent's figures in the trash if you just attack twice and win. You just have to time it properly and watch out what you're up against. I just now won a match by attacking the opponent's Pokemon sitting on the goal, he couldn't reach me so I won.
The problem are people with gimmick decks who do not attack at all.

And if this applies to enemy electric types adjacent to you (including the one you're fighting), oh baby

But for non-gym electric decks, this is just terrible. It would be a good energy if it gave +1 MP provided one of your electrics is adjacent, para decks are too fragile to make use of +10.

I've used to play Tao Twins, and you MUST play aggressively with em. The thing is, I always lost on rolls , and their damage is low now with the power creep going on.

Changed to a cookie cutter "best ex" deck and is way more consistent.

It's kind of difficult to implement meaningful changes to Duel aside from what we've already seen. There's not enough gameplay variation to introduce new modes that don't just boil down to literally the exact same thing it is now.
I think the best way to remedy dead weeks is to bring Carnivals back between Gyms. Carnivals would be a good way of building resources up between Gyms too and figure prizes in Carnivals don't necessarily have to be EX figures if that's something the devs are worried about. It could be an R figure that would actually be good and can be viable competitively like Gyarados
