I miss the days when snorlax was good.
I still played him in gen5 pretty solid, always top 20 on smogon with this cute fatty.

Gen7 killed snorlax.

Normal typing just isn't that good defensively. It can be good offensively, but that's more due to busted stats and abilities (look at the normal type BL mons)
As a defensive typing it has no resistances (- an immunity to ghost) so it can be worn down incredibly easily by pretty much anything that can hit hard. The only reason Chansey and Blissey are relevant is more due to their busted stats and good defensive ability in serene grace than anything related to typing.

So it either needs a busted ability, or a far better defensive niche.

Something like 165/140/115/45/150/5 would fix him imo
He can keep Thick Fat or Immunity and be fine, Filter or Fur Coat would make him gross though, pic related

In recent history, Snorlax tops not only the usage stats in Gen 2 OU, but Gen 1 OU as well (just a fraction ahead of Tauros and Chansey).

Poison Heal might work.
1. Double Leftovers, great for a slow, bulky thing

What? If anything, gen 7 buffed him thanks to the confusion berries working with Gluttony. You can pretty much get a free Belly Drum and sustain in the form of Recycle.
