First of all, no one says "chuuni", ironically or otherwise. Except you. Or some Japs, and I doubt you're a Japanese. It makes little sense in English anyway.
Furthermore, they're all meant to be Japanese characters or at least partly Japanese (in the case of characters such as Mimi, if I remember correctly - it's been a while since I've watched Digimon, Tri. aside). I think what you mean is that they all have different skin tones. What I'm saying is that they didn't whitewash them but that that because the new designs are so simplified and shitty, they also lack different skin tones. So, you could argue it's whitewashing, but I argue they're only all white-skinned because the new artist(s) put in so little effort that they didn't even get to the point of worrying about their skin colours.
Hell, their faces are almost all identical too (or completely identical in the case of two certain female characters in the first trailer and art showing off the characters).
