I agree that they're not half as bad as most Fakemon, but they aren't anything special. The only reason you like them so much is because it fits in with the edgy/waifu/bara triangle Gamefreak has done for the past few generations. On their own, they're nowhere near as good.

Concepts are weird. Why does a snail become BIG BARA SNAIL?

While our tastes certainly differ, I'm asking a legitimate question. The bara/waifu/edgy triangle worked in prior gens because there was a theme tying them together (knight/mage/rogue) or fit the theme of the line (Tiger Mask/heel wrestler, siren). I just don't see it between these three.

The theme as been the same since Gen 6. Every starter since Gen 6 has a Fighter/Rogue/Mage theme to them based on classic RPG classification. And each starter is based on individual class from the overall themes.

Wait, Raptor was part of the Sage dev team at one point? And I tought he was just some other random DevArt artist with some nice fakemon ideas, but a somewhat crude artstyle. Also, he apparently deleted his original account, but made a new one some months ago. Don't ask me why, I don't watch him. He also had some interesting SU ideas, mainly the organic gems, but that's about it

I also remember seeing him in a CAP thread once on Smogon.

Did I or did I not mention the RPg classification in my post?

Regardless, thanks for posting that giant chart of RPG classes. I didn't know so many classes/subclasses existed, so it's easier to see the correlation with the Fakemon. I still don't like them, but they make more sense now that they can be classified in the RPG system.

Only the grass starter does. The fire one goes from cartoon rabbit to french musketeer looking theme and the water one goes from cartoon snail to knight. As opposed to just bigger meaner looking anime versions of rabbits and snails.

The reason the Grass starter looks like it just gets bigger is because, I was trying to avoid anons like you calling it le "Grass type Xerneas" or "Stantler just painted green" or "literally just my mom's deer."

Plus a quadruped deer would have been generic and wouldn't have fit with what the entire line is based on.
