>>32774645Gen VI and VII allotate so many "slots" internally to the symbols on a Pokemon's status page that mark if a Pokemon was generated in that generation. XY has six for its pentagon symbol, one for each version of XY, one for each version of ORAS, and two that went unused. Gen VII has four for its clover symbol, one for each version of SM, and now one for each version of USUM, which means unlike Gen VI they didn't plan ahead for an uncertain future. Gen I and Gen II share one as well, the Game Boy symbol, with seven slots, for each of RGBY and GSC. And finally there's one for Pokemon generated in Pokemon Go that we haven't had any way to legitimately see yet.
