>>32774051There won't be any Gen 7 Pokémon as playable character in SSB, regardless of if it is a Smash 4 port or Smash 5. If there is Smash 4 DX they will have fairly limited newcomer slots, and will probably prioritize other characters and franchises over Pokémon. By the time Smash 5 comes out Pokémon will have moved to Gen 8 and the Switch, so they will want to promote that.
Also I hate to be a patternfag, but notice how every non Gen 1 Pokémon character has been from an even numbered generation(Pichu, Lucario, Grenigger).
