You can get Gible from under the bike bridge as soon as you reach it, instead of requiring Strength like in DP.
There is an Eevee available in Hearthome City, if you need a solid Water, Electric, or Psychic type. Glaceon isn't a bad ice option in-game either, but the ice rock is too late game to reasonable use, better to just use Weavile or Froslass at that point.
