People started punishing the whole generation because of a few designs. In defense of the whole generation and the concept of "creativity", Magneton, Voltorb/Electrode and Dugtrio were all put in the "hating spotlight".
That's really bad though. Magneton isn't the most intelligent design ever, but it has its touch of greatness (the animations really help, its attack animations are cool and kawai as fuck).
