It's hard but really fair, the trainers are really good and it does justice to a lot of pokemon that are frankly shit.

It's pretty much a game that gives you a tough challenge but gives you a lot of tools to take on that challenge, like

>eevee before you even get pokeballs
>old rod from guide gent in cherrygrove
>one of each starter from each region early in the game
>a way to evolve your eevee after sprout tower
>shit tons of rare pokemon all over the place to train
>updated evos so you can get trade shit and stuff like it (Scizor, Glaceon, etc.)

the only problem with the hack in my mind is that HGSS are buggy as fuck games on emulators and so theres a lot of frustration in that regard

On my Sun nuzlocke (firsr of gen 7) and off to a fabulously lucky start. Got female Calm Popplio (male would've flimflamed my jimjams, but not too bad) and a Gentle female Pichu on route 1.

Of course, this probably means by my luck they'll both get crit'd soon, but hey. It's a good start.

Standard fare of Naming everything, If it faints it's dead, and only the first pokemon on the route
I'll also be running if I get a duplicate on the first encounter I get 1 and only 1 reroll, even if its another duplicate i'm stuck with it

It's honestly my favorite romhack by far, but I'm kind of biased because I really just like hacks that enhance the base games in ways I like, like Emerald 386 and VoltWhite and BlazeBlack

Blazeblack 2 Challenge mode was the best nuzlocke of my life. Like a rollercoaster of getting my shit pushed in and then raising a few new tough little buggers over and over that did me proud until they inevitability fell.

I never had a nuzlocke team stronger and better well-rounded than I did before taking in Clay. And I never had a team more thoroughly and helplessly slaughtered than I did by his Excadrill.

It says Pichu is only a 5% chance, but I've just run into 3 in a row, 4 out of 10 total encounters on this route. I think I'm burning all my good luck for the nuzlocke on route 1.

If your Pichu is up front you'll run into another Pichu 50% of the time because of the Static ability. Makes it really annoying to grind Pichus early on

Beat the sprout tower elder, his hoothoot is literal aids.
I also realized halfway up that half my team is weak to flying, so I got Glaceon's evolutionary item from the elder. Now time to grind until he gets a good ice move for faulkner.

fucked up route 2, skipped a dupe pidgey and accidentally killed the ratatta that showed up after

I just have a little advice for templates! I would suggest using POWERPOINT instead of paint! It allows you to scale images without blurring them, and lets you move and edit without damaging the rest of the template. It makes posting updates significantly easier than using MSP. First update of the new thread.

Candice has been taken down, but things did not go so smoothly. 4 Double Teams from her Frosslass lead to a rough time, and the death of Donald the Golduck. Thankfully my newest teammate, Anna the Mamoswine, came right out with a Crit Earthquake for the victory.

For those wondering about my Torterra, he's safe and sound. He's just been boxed, probably for the rest of the run. Besides the one Whiscash in the Elite 4, I don't see any reason to keep him around.

Every single one of the dead mons were seriously trained by me.
Especially the Staravia's death hit me hard, since i play with dupes clause.
Grinding before Fantina now luckily i have a good strat

I'm playing a hack with all pokemon avaible. I'm not so sure about leafeon because it's special attack is shit and it's only physical grass moves are lvl 15 and 71, so it means i'd be stuck with Magical Leaf until Pastoria.

It should be in the OP links. Drayano's Blaze Black 2 & Volt White 2. Challenge mode is an absolute motherfucker in that game to nuzlocke, but not cheaply so. Every trainer has decent to excellent movesets and teams.

Here's how I handle Safari Zones, personally: throw balls at everything that's doesn't trigger dupes clause. No bait, no rocks, no puffs, no blocks, no running. If it doesn't trigger dupes clause, chuck balls until you run out, or it flees. Once I've caught one (1) Pokémon, or run out of balls, I'm done there.

My Sun nuzlocke luck is starting to wane. Arrived in Haouli City, caught a female lax Wingull (Caw). Mr.Pinkhair almost killed my Magnemite & Yungoos, but pulled it off. Skipped the Cemetery catch to wait for daytime, as I don't want Misdreavus. Got lucky with the Berry Tree on Route 2 & got male Hyper Cutter Crabrawler (Creed), unfortunately he's Timid. He dealt with the first trial pretty easily though, & I got an mild male Diglett. Male Gentle Spearow (Jiit) on route 3, and then my good luck ran out.

That Mega Draining Petlil Rising Star killed my spunky little Wingull. First casualty. That Petlil hits like a tank. I just needed to land one. More. Wing attack. Shit's getting real finally. And finally caught an Impish Cottonee (Luftwaif) in the Meadow that I hope to never use.

Training my team to 45 before I move on to continue the Team Galactic plot. I'm hoping to land everyone around 47-ish by the time I get to the Distortion World. If I successfully kill Cyrus and Giratina-O, it's off to the last gym, and then the Pokémon League.

I did decide to switch my team up a bit, since I'm having to train a new Water type anyway. Donald the Golduck's death lead to the addition of Mr. Winkie the Floatzel. Ichabod the Rotom and Jafar the Crobat were just starting to fall behind a bit, so I've decided to add Winifred the Gengar and Mickey the Pichu soon Raichu in their place.

Fishing count as an encounter in that route. If you're on Route 673, and there's a patch of grass on Route 673, shaking trees on Route 673, and a spot to fish on Route 673, you still only get one encounter on Route 673. It's just up to you whether or not you get it by fishing or otherwise.

Not with dupes clause. It was literally between Absol (8/9 chances) and Seedot (1/9 chances). Without it's the reverse, 8% encounter rate.

I was thought Meganium was the worst one to lead with between the starters for its lack of movepool. However, the fact that every single of its stats are at least decent makes it decent in game. It's meant to be a support Pokémon. People use it expecting big sweeps or something, but its movepool just shouts it's not meant for that kind of play.

In theory, I've never done it. Brace for trial double battles and Z-Moves, though. Just one Z move can potentially KO any pokemon. Also another spot where I always faint is the tutorial for Battle Royale. Shit is hard if you're not prepared for it.

At least Hau heals your Pokemon ahead of time.

I always went by "I can't have two pokes with the same caught location."
I don't remember if it already was a thing in gen1 tho. If it isn't, try going for one poke for each area as defined by having a separate page on bulbapedia or wherever the fuck else.

I just wing it. Routes are one area which includes random encounter all methods (grass, water, rocks, trees, etc), even if the route is split in half like Route 4 in RSE. Caves are all one, not levels. Buildings are all one, not floors. Cities are each one and that includes any and all gift pokemon, prize pokemon, etc.

Speaking of which, finally went back to the Haouli Cemetery for my capture, after accidentally knocking out the Zubat I was trying to catch in Seaward Cave like a dummy. Caught a male naive Drifloon with the nuzlocke-useless Aftermath ability. Zepplin should be a good replacement for my deceased Wingull.

Time to finish Route 3 after grinding my new guy and take on the Kahuna.

Yeah, best part is that she performs absurdly well if she gets past the point of learning some good normal STAB moves as Swablu and gets the chance to learn and set up for Dragon Dances and Fly as Altaria. It's gotten to the point where she did half the heavy lifting against Cynthia's Garchomp which I was sure I was going to wipe there.

Hoping she'll survive my gen 5 runs whenever I'll get to them and maybe even to ORAS to get her mega stone.

Godfuckingdammit. Having battle mode on Set makes all the difference.

After grinding my team to level 15 (and my new Drifloon I waited for daytime for to 16) I hit the Kahuna. Leading with Popplio that Mankey surprisingly Karate Chopped it to 13 HP with just 2 hits. Switched out to Drifloon because I figured another chop was coming, and I was right. But then his motherfucking Crabrawler came in and Pursuited him to death on the switch. Aftermath made it hurt, at least. My Spearow got some damage in before he KO'd her too. My Crabrawler took out his and took care of Makuhita.

I thought I was flying high at first, but 3 quick deaths in succession (to all of ny flying types I had) are bringing me down to earth. Now I really wish I hadn't botched that Zubat capture in Seaward cave. Time to Tauros charge the island and then off to Island 2.

You actually make a good case (7 resistances? I spent the whole run oneshotting them with my shockwave and psywave carrying pig, I thought they were jokes). I suppose I could look for a high level one in the routes I haven't got a catch yet. I've been repelling my way through the eastern searoutes, so I'm safe. I just need to find out where they are highest levelled I suppose. I'm not raising the level 5 one I have fished out of Dewford.
