So if you'd like Lillie there would no problems, as most characters including Lillie show so much more character (eg Guzma Kukui etc) and makes it much more bearable IMO. What I'm trying to say is they are improving step by step, but are forgetting about other things. The perfect way to describe GF in recent years is "two steps forward and one step back".
So I am confident USUM will be the at least somewhat better, and will do something about the issues you mentioned, sooner or later at least.
The cutscene problem would be talked about a lot less if SM had a decent post-game as the post-game usually has no cutscenes. USUM will most likely have a good post-game, because every 3rd game has had this in the past.
