Let's say the whole /vp/ tried to push a shitmon into OU by spamming it on PS. Would we be able to do it? I mean Smeargle just rose to OU because of some meme webs team and Metang was pushed into RU by a single mod in gen 5

We have to choose a mon that is useable and can pull some shit off, but still is completely shit (like Ambipom). Also we can rank high with good teams and when we're high enough switch them with shitmons

Might actually be usable.

It has access to sucker punch/endure meaning it can actually act as a fear pokemon should it come across a fire type that destroys it, and if it comes across a physical pokemon it can survive against, it can set up stealth rocks and use toxic/gyro ball

I still prefer wormadam ground for this, because with max attack/defense it can still attack well with earthquake

Smeargle and the team are actually good. It didn't rose because of the effort of a single autist, but because multiple people copypasted it to climb the ladder easily

Back then stats were basically unweighted. Iirc it was specifically this incident that pushed for the need of weighted usage stats, so no, you wouldn't be able to replicate Molk's success now.

I'm nominating Ribombee. It gets Quiver Dance and Twinkle Tackles coming off of it hurt. You can even combine with Tapu Lele for Fairy-spam (much safer now that Mega Metagross is banned) and protect it from priority with Psychic Terrain.

This could only work if:

1. You got /vp/ to agree on what Pokemon we force.

2. You managed to make this "project" so high profile on the board that a lot of people take part.

3. The actually good players of /vp/ take part and not just low ladder users.

The best way to go about it might be to get to high enough ladder with a viable team, and then switch it out and use the shitmon once you are high enough.

You'd likely lose every battle, but win/loss ratio doesn't affect usage stats and you can just raise your ELO again with the proper team.

I'd like to see it happen, but I really doubt /vp/ has the determination to do it.

Flygon is the only Pokemon on this list where it's even possible to accomplish this, mainly because it will have some casual playerbase usage to back it up.

I know the idea most of the people have is "to push a shitmon" but it's actually impossible to push anything else on the list. Flygon isn't total garbage and can most viably be pushed to 1650+ elo where its usage will actually make an impact.

Of course, it won't win the poll because of memers that aren't going to ladder anyways.

Remember this post when nobody can get past 1500 with Wormadam and you need to be like 1700 to really impact stats.
