Seems likely enough.

3DS hardware predates the implementation of competent hardware lighting effects on mobile/ARM based hardware while Tegra X1 stacks up to graphics card tech made between 2010 and 2014.

The lighting effects will probably be good enough so that they drop that attempt at cel-shading or they'll do it even better.

Resolution isn't really all that holds it back, anon. It's dated 3D hardware that can't push that many polygons out and it doesn't support as many lighting effects as GameCube or Wii does.

Is was competitive, it had great designs and graphics , the characters you could use are awesome and the soundtrack was s-tier too.

ARM11 (2002) is pre-Cortex hardware. At best you could compare it to flip-phone hardware or so before the age of the iPad. Not that phones of that tech couldn't do 3D, but for reference the Cortex-A series started with A8 in 2005 just after the ARM11. PSVita a Cortex-A9 based system from 2007.

Switch uses A57 and A53 cores, both of which were the first 64-bit ARM line of CPUs (2012). Not the best on the market, but I would imagine it's like trying to pit a Pentium 3 against a Core2 Duo.

That's because the Pokemon ones are made for the purpose of being reused in future generations that will have higher resolution graphics, while the Trainer models aren't going to leave the game they were made for.

3DS has some okay looking titles, but ghost samurai armor tech demo or not, Pica200 was still pretty dated hardware. All they really need to be is Wii tier which punches WAY about the New 3DS' weight, Xenoblade on 3DS is proof of a gimped experience. The high poly models Creatures provided probably won't even have to be tweaked or optimized as the Tegra or the Switch's dev tools have plenty of safeguards the 3DS couldn't provide due to being unable to support certain development tools or middleware that's already in the Switch's wheelhouse.

Switch may not be a PS4 in terms of hardware, but it's in no way an HD 3DS either.

That the new 3ds I wrote which came out in 2015.

The 2011 3ds was Dual-Core ARM11 MPCore, single-core ARM9

Which is even worse

The fps drops playing sun and moon on old 3ds is nuts
