It gains enough special attack that Ice Beam is only slightly weaker then Protean Ice Beam, while Hydro Pump, Scald, Water Shuriken, and Dark Pulse are slightly stronger. The requirement of needing a kill isn't nearly as bad as people thought, as, again, its water and dark moves are hitting just as hard as they always did.
Megazard X has opportunity cost, you are forced not to use something like Mega Medicham or Mega Mawile when you use it.
