Ever since SM, and a little before that with XY, there's been a huge increase in Pokemon doujins for all the girl characters. Even artists who used to never draw Pokemon stuff at all suddenly starting drawing fanart or doujins of all the female characters.
Just look at how little doujin was made in the Hoenn and DP era in comparison. We got a few, but not nearly as much as now. I only have to wonder...why? What's with the sudden increase when the girls from the first 4 gens were more popular than the girls now?
I sometimes wonder if it's because Nintendo could come down hard on hentai artists because they're very protective of the Pokemon property, but now that doesn't seem the case anymore.
