look at the moveset of 90% of electric type pokemon.
Manectric learning flamethrower and overheat is one of the few things that prevents as being just as bad as the rest of that entire type of shitmon

Part of the reason I love heliolisk, it gets all kinds of wacky shit like focus blast, surf, grass knot, and additional stab in hyper voice. The only special electric type I can think of that doesn't require HP ice.

I disagree. All pokedex data suggests it is a loner who has a mane. One could argue it could be a maned wolf (native to south america) but they have super long deerlike legs and look like freaky foxes and are DEFINITELY not wolves in any sense of the word.

I've always thought of manectric as being a hyena. Yeah, i know, mightyena exists in the same gen but i just assumed one was a pack hyena while the other was solitary.

Either way they're absolutely NOT wolves. Midget maned 'wolves,' loner hyenas, i'd even accept coyotes with manes or simply wild dogs with manes. Not wolves.

It's not really based on a classical Dragon any more than base Sceptile
Exeggutor grows a long neck and a tail, plus the dev team explicitly said it was their favorite alolan design to develop.

Base Sceptile already got a number of Dragon moves and was part of the Dragon egg group. It's pretty clear it got the Charizard treatment of "we want an elemental dragon starter but actually making it Dragon type would fuck up the type triangle."

Unfortunately anyone who actually liked this Pokemon seems to have left Game Freak before gen 4 started and it's just gotten shit on relentlessly ever since.

dude do you even know the complete dominance of a game like infernape, staraptor, lucario? fighting, even pseudo fighting, was I N S A N E in gen IV. oh my god do you even consider the fact you ONLY suffer issues when staraptor hits really volkner (candice COULD be an issue IF STARAPTOR DIDN'T GET CLOSE COMBAT).
