I realize a better system running sun/moon could yield amazing looking Pokémon, but I still want realistic shading, animalistic relevant details etched into their faces/body parts, you know, the kind of effort capcom puts into their monsters, only they're Pokémon.

Do you realize how lobg it would take to make new models? That's a waste of recourses. They made the 3ds models so high quality for future-proof. They could just change the lighting and give them higher quality textures(the sm textures look compressed) and they would look great.

Only the gliding pokemon can be fixed with new animations. Pokemon like Haxorus, Nidoking and Typhlosion have fucked proportions, which needs either a model edit or a new model.

The models are actually packing quite the triangles. They're very detailed. It's the shading, the textures, and the outline that's the issue.

Their size is actually the reason the 3DS bogs down when there's a lot going on with them. The system can't handle it.
